Welcome to the first in a series of Bookmarks for Beginners.

In this set, you're going to find links to everything you could want
to get a better grasp of the issues around spam, how to track
spammers, all the tools you'll need, and how to report them so they
get The Big Boot.

There are only around 100 links in the set. Fear not, you information
junkies! Most of these sites are linked to others. LOTS of others.
These are just the best places to start!

We'll be adding to the set, as well as releasing additional sets on
other subjects. If you'd like to be notified about these additions
and upgrades when they come out, send an email to

subscribepicks@theideaspot.com

You'll need to reply to the note you get to confirm the request.
That's to make sure it's you, and not someone trying to prank you!

To Install The Bookmarks:
-------------------------

Unzip the file containing the bookmarks. (What? You already did that?)
Keep track of the directory you unzipped the files to.

For Netscape: Open your browser, click on Bookmarks, then click on
Edit Bookmarks. In the screen that opens next, click on File, then
click on Import. Browse to the directory you unzipped the files to,
and click on spammarx.htm. Then click on Open.

You're done.

For Microsoft Explorer: Copy the directory called Spam to
C:\Windows\Favorites, or wherever your Explorer bookmarks are stored.

You're done.

The collection should now appear in the Bookmark menu of your browser.

Don't you just LOVE those lengthy manuals?

....

If there's any confusion over these directions, let me know. My email
address for this is comments@theideaspot.com

And by all means, send along your comments, critiques, and suggestions
for new sites. There are links in the bookmarks for each. Using these,
you can contact me either via the website or email.

And don't be stingy with the comments. Even criticism is helpful in
making sure the sets keep improving. (Actually, it's the MOST helpful,
but I don't mind the good comments either. ;)

Enjoy!
